You should allow at least two working days for the prescription to be ready for collection. This time will be longer if your prescription is picked up by a pharmacy.
Tick the items you need on your computer list of medication.
We have an arrangement with five local chemists who collect on a daily basis – Wellcare Pharmacy in Minard Road, Mackie Pharmacy in Pollokshaws Road, Shawlands Pharmacy in Kilmarnock Road, Docherty Pharmacy in Kilmarnock Road and Queens Park Pharmacy in Pollokshaws Road. Please notify us which of these you wish us to send your prescription to and it will then be ready to collect from that pharmacy.
There is no facility for prescriptions to be collected at weekends or public holidays so please make sure you order your prescription in plenty of time to avoid any problems.
Prescriptions can also be ordered via our email – [email protected] Please ensure you give your name, date of birth and a list of the names of the medication you are ordering, and also let us know which of the five pharmacies we should send your prescription to.
Medication can also be ordered by putting a written request with your name, date of birth and a list of the names of the medication you are ordering, and also let us know which of the five pharmacies we should send your prescription to, through our letterbox at the surgery. A repeat request can also be posted to the surgery. We do not accept repeat prescription requests over the telephone.
Hospital Requests
When you are discharged from hospital you should normally receive five days supply of medication.
On receipt of your medication requirements, which will be issued to you by the hospital, please bring this to the surgery or post via S.A.E. before your supply of medication has run out.
Hospital requests for change of medication will be checked by the GP first, and if necessary your Doctor will issue you with a Prescription. The Practice will endeavour to issue you with your prescription on that day, but it cannot be issued until your medical details are checked by the Doctor, your prescription should normally be ready by 4pm on that day, or you may be advised to attend the next day.
The Doctors will review your medication, regularly, which may involve changes to your tablets, in accordance with current health Board policies. Please be reassured that this will not affect your treatment.
